Abstract: This seminar summarises the results reached over the past 5 years in the design, synthesis and characterisation of new chromophores and fluorophores. The experimental results are shown along with a solid theoretical and computational support, which allows a deep understanding in the observed behaviour for these new systems. Preliminary results of application in bio-medical field are also presented.
